He was predeceased by: his wife Margie Leneal Cathey; his parents, Robert Cathey and Minnie Spry Cathey; his son Carl Wayne Cathey; and his siblings, Bud Cathey, Silas Cathey, Daniel Cathey, Ruby Cashion, Frances Fry and Maxine Davis.
He is survived by: his sons, Randy Cathey of Brownsville, TN and Brian Cathey of Columbus, MS; his grandchildren, Brandon Cathey, Craig Cathey and Misty Long; and his great grandchildren, Steven Jennings, Megan Burns and Madison Cathey.
