He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie B. Currie and Venie Dyson Wise; and his siblings, Roy Roland Currie, Clarence Gibbs, Susie Farmer, Mary F. Taylor and Leatrice "Billy" Scott.

He is survived by: his wife Clarisa Daniels of Brownsville, TN; his daughter Juanita Swift (Wren) of Memphis, TN; his stepchildren, Arniece Perkins of Brownsville, TN, Davin Johnson (Charles) of Memphis, TN, Cornelius Houston (Sherri) of Georgia, Tedric Houston of Georgia and Jameel Bunbury (Teresa) of Georgia; his siblings, Johnny B. Wise, Jacqueline "Jackie" Currie, Beulah Bradford, Virginia Kimble and Margie Lewis (Johnnie); and his sister-in-law Mary Jane Claybrook Currie.

The family has requested memorials be made to the Brownsville/Haywood County Animal Shelter, c/o Sherry Batchelor.
