He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Russell and Nora Hollawell Russell; his sisters, Ann Canady and Melba Cates; and his brother-in-law Richard Gray.

He is survived by: his sister Jean Gray of Brownsville, TN; his brother-in-law Lynn Cates of Brownsville, TN; his grandsons, Dalton Jones (Madelyn) and Dylan Jones; and his great grandchild Carmen Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the First United Methodist Church, 117 E. Franklin St., Brownsville, TN 38012.
