She was predeceased by: her husband Richard H. "Dick" Meschendorf, Jr.; and her parents, Judge Kirby and Bettie Matherne. She is survived by: her siblings, Jean M. Avery of Brownsville, TN, Debra M. Jones (David) of Randolph, NJ, Louis K. Matherne, Jr. (Chris) of Richmond, VA and Graham Matherne (Suzanne) of Brentwood, TN; and her stepchildren, Richard H. Meschendorf, III (Joy) of Alcoa, TN, James K. Meschendorf (Stacy) of Powell, TN and Martha G. Wilds (Mike) of Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by one niece, five nephews, three grand-nieces, two grand-nephews and five step-grandchildren.
Due to the concerns related to COVID and the effect a gathering could have on the community, a celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date.
