He is survived by: his wife Juanita Barrett; his children, Misty McGuire (Jody), Tex Barrett, Jr. (Heather), Charles Garfield Barrett (Amanda) and Ginger Gross (Dustin); his stepdaughters, Angela Addison (Charles) and Diana Nikki Price (Joe); his great grandchildren, Mason and Colton; his sisters, Dorothy Gilmer, Temple Kruger and Mary Harmon; and his pets, Colin and Blackie. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight step grandchildren.
