He was predeceased by: his mother Carol Mahala. He is survived by: his father Millard Mahala; his daughter Angel Thacker; his sister Mary Ann Stapleton; his aunt Jo Ann Freeman; his nieces, Shonda Meyers (Will Meyers) and Linda Bentley; and his nephew Keith Bentley. He is also survived by his dad, surviving family members.
