She was predeceased by: her mother Alma Fortune; her husband Edward D. Layne, Sr.; and her son Edward D. Layne, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Richard M. Layne (Deborah) and Kim A. Layne (Gail); her daughter-in-law Judy Layne of Trinity, NC; her grandchildren, Ashley Wilson Capps of Jupiter, FL, Kristi Layne Callaway, Justin Layne, Jonathan Layne, Paula Layne Southerland and Robert Layne of Winston Salem, NC; and her great grandchildren, Jack Wilson Capps of Jupiter, FL and Elijah Layne.
In-lieu-of flowers, the family requests donations in Myrtle's name be made to The Salvation Army, 204 W. Walnut St., Johnson City, TN 37604.
