It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Julia Winston Callahan of Bristol, Tennessee, who passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Winston and Hattie Harris Winston; her former husband Dr. Edwin Godsey; her children, Joseph Winston Godsey and Lynn Powers; her granddaughter Julia Powers Rainero; and her husband Robert "Bob" Callahan.
She is survived by: her son Ed Godsey (Jenny) of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Sara Godsey McDermott (Taylor) of Charlotte, Anna Godsey Bishop (Daniel) of Arlington, Virginia, Audra Jones, Ed Powers (Becca) and Nat Powers (Leigh); her great grandchildren, Judson Rainero, Milly Rainero, Adilyn Jones, Emma Jones, Hattie Powers, Margaret Powers, Myles McDermott, Jack McDermott, Julia James Powers and Harris Powers; her son-in-law Jud Powers; and her grandson-in-law John Rainero. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 760 Cumberland Street, Bristol, Virginia, in loving memory of Julia.
