He is survived by: his wife Jean Shaffer; his daughters, Samantha Levinger (Jeff), Mary Shaffer (David) and Jamison Buchanan (Elijah); his grandchildren, James Shaffer and Jovie Buchanan; his siblings, Ernest Shaffer (Rochelle) and Shirley Haynes (Ray); and his friend David Birdsong.
