He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis C. Johnson and Verna McGlothlin Johnson; his daughter Debra Sue Johnson; his grandson Jeremy Johnson; his brother Wayne Johnson; and his son-in-law Mitchell McCluskie.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Slagle Johnson; his children, Jim Johnson and V. Lorraine McCluskie; and his siblings, Dorothy Holmes, Glen Johnson and Ronnie Johnson. He is also survived by five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
