She was predeceased by: her parents, Thelma Russell Proffitt and Albert Lawrence Proffitt; her husband Joseph Waverly Rowell; and her brother Al Proffitt. She is survived by: her son Joseph Stephen Rowell (Nancy) of Winston-Salem, NC; her grandchildren, Kathryn and Jeff; her son Albert Brent Rowell (Phantipa); her granddaughter Andrea; her son John Waverly Rowell (Kathleen) of Valle Crucis, NC; her grandchildren, Grey, Logan and Thomas; her son David Francis Rowell (Lisa) of Winston-Salem, NC; and her grandchildren, Michael, Emily and Nathan. She is also survived by four great grandsons and a great granddaughter.
In lieu of food and flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to First Presbyterian Church, The Salvation Army or the Joe and Frances Rowell Scholarship Fund at Wake Forest University.
