With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Emmett Edward Powers of Bristol, Tennessee, born in Coeburn, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 9, 2024. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Powers and Evelyn Powers; and his siblings, Alfred Powers and Mary Walker. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Powers; his son Christopher Powers (Jessica); his sisters, Judy Whitnick (Richard), Tammy Hilliard (Joe), Kathy Kegley (Ervin), Shirley Eden (George) and Pam Goodson (Danny); his grandchildren, Logan Powers, Makenzie Powers, Emily Powers, Andrew Love, Austin Wright, Logan Wright and Justin Wright; his great grandchildren, McKenlee Goodson, Elijah Goodson, Madison Wright and Alora Wright; and his sons, Bobby Poore and Paul Peters. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Christopher's Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Blevins Funeral Home to help fund funeral arrangements.
