She was predeceased by: her father J. P. Overbay; her husband Rev. Carl F. Scyphers; her granddaughter April Shields; her granddaughter-in-law Susan O'Neal; and her siblings, Charlotte Jones, Betty Rhoten, Elsie Bartee and Carl "Buddy" Overbay.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lana O'Neal (Jerry) and Rhonda Shields (Perry); her grandsons, Jeremy O'Neal (Christy), Jason O'Neal and Robert Shields (Emily); her great grandchildren, Hannah O'Neal, Evy Shields, George Shields, Harold Shields and Novella Shields; her sister Carolyn Morton; her sister-in-law Birdie Stewart (Fred); and her nephews, Jeff Rhoten, Eddie Morton, Andy Bartee, El Mongo Bartee, Rick Owens and Robbie Stewart. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
