He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Lewis Emmert and Clara Juanita Whitaker Emmert. He is survived by: his children, Cassandra Lynn Emmert Arnold of Marion, VA, Melanie Dawn Emmert Arnold of Abingdon, VA, Richard Lewis Emmert, III of Hopewell, VA and Christopher Curtis Emmert of Damascus, VA; and his siblings, Judy Moorefield (Randy) of Abingdon, VA and Darwin Emmert (Ronnie) of Ohio. He is also survived by six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
