He was predeceased by: his parents, David W. Banks and Ruby Pauline Kinley; and his siblings, David L. Banks and Patricia D. Banks. He is survived by: his close friends, Lisa Clark and Wilma Clark; and his siblings, Rita Snodgrass of Gray, Brenda Greer (Dean) of Gray, Carolyn McCraken of Johnson City, Tennessee, Larry J. Banks (Sandra) of Piney Flats and Danny Banks of Johnson City, Tennessee. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
