He is survived by: his wife Brenda Sue Cole Yates; his son Brad Cole; his grandchildren, Tanner Yates and Kinsley "Mookie" Yates; his stepgranddaughter Kaley Spears; his siblings, Sue Humphrey (Earl), Norma Whitaker (Kyle), Joyce Johnson (Randy), Becky Carter and Rick Yates (Brenda); his close friend Sylvia Haworth; and also, Angel Freeman and Kim Yates. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
