She was predeceased by : her parents, Champ Clark Vermillion and Dorothy Pennybacker Vermillion; and her brother William Bernard Vermillion. She is survived by : her husband Robert Arthur Bruce; her daughter Caroline Elizabeth Bruce Gemmell (Daniel Joseph Gemmell, Jr.); her sister-in-law Suzanne Turner Vermillion; and her nephew Jonathan Clark Vermillion (Leslie Vermillion).

Visitation was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Akard Funeral Home Chapel (1912 W State St, Bristol, TN 37620). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
