He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Ward and Clara Ward; his siblings, Cleta Shelton, Norris Ward and Allen Ward; and his grandson Brandon Ward.

He is survived by: his wife Cindy Ward; his children, Michael Ward of Brighton, Stephen Hedrick of Millington and Patricia Butler (Thomas) of Burlison; his brother Donald Ward (Pat) of Brighton; his sisters-in-law, Ann Ward and Beverly Ward; his grandchildren, Matthew Irvin, Caitlin Irvin, Elizabeth Butler, Tristan, Trinity Butler and Oliver Hedrick; and his great grandchildren, Cassidy Irvin and Nathan Qualls.
