He was predeceased by: his parents, Brownie Ashford and Mai Ida Farris Ashford; and his son Jeff Hughey. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Wright Ashford; his children, Lynette Redd (Mark) of Arlington, Sherry Wilson (Johnny) of Brighton, Angie Yandel of Arlington, Jenny Higgins (Joe) of Lakeland, Ashley Ashford of Indianna, Amanda Works (Brian) of Indianna and Rodney Hughey (Tatiana) of Port St; and his brothers, Charlie Ashford (Cathy) of Stafford, VA and Roy Ashford (Joni) of Potts Camp, MS. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
