She was predeceased by: her sons, Michael Dawson and Steven Downing; her siblings, Donald Joy, Betty Joy and Jeanette Hamblin; and her parents, John Alvin and Josie Bell Joy.

She is survived by: her husband Harold Hudson of Brighton; her children, Patsy Hatfield of Covington, Darlene Long (John) of Granville, TN, Carol Smith of Brighton and Ricky Downing (Christy) of Brighton; and her siblings, Ruby Reynolds, Desmond Joy and John Joy. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
