He is survived by: his wife Donna Burks; his children, Shannon Burks of Indiana, Celeste Wilson of Missouri, Aubrey Autumn Ray Burks of Brighton and Chuck Pyatt of Brighton; and his close friend Ralph Campbell. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
