It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alvin Goforth of Brighton, Tennessee, who passed away on April 21, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin P. Goforth, Sr. and Lee Amy Baskin Goforth; his siblings, Kenneth Hayes Goforth, Waldon Gift Goforth, Warner Allen Goforth, Russell Leon Goforth, Charles "Holey" Goforth, William "Billy" Goforth, Mary Lee Delashmit, Sarah Frances Kinney and Lillian Pearl Goforth; and his pets, Prince and Dude.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; and his children, Janett Horne (Glenn), Vickie Smith (Mark), Wanda Scott (Jeff) and Wade Goforth. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the Veteran's Administration, Samaritan's Purse, Gateway Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.
