It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Zelma Overbay Stroud of Brentwood, Tennessee, born in Pennington Gap, Virginia, who passed away on November 25, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen and Paul L. Overbay, Sr.; her husband Dr. Robert G. Stroud; her sister Carolynn Peters Byers; her brother-in-law Judge John K. Byers; her brothers, Paul L. Overbay, Jr. and Cyrus Emil Peters; and her sister-in-law Lyn Peters.

She is survived by: her children, Scout, Robert Stroud Jr. (Linda) of Franklin, TN and Brenda Stroud Head (Keith) of Brentwood, TN; her sister Eloise Shivell (Jeff) of Kingsport, TN; her sister-in-law Anne Overbay of Kingsport, TN; her grandchildren, Ashlee Head Walker (Juan) of Brentwood, TN, Brittany Head Woodard (Quan) of Brentwood, TN, Ashton Stroud of Maryville, TN and Mac Stroud of Franklin, TN; her nieces and nephews, William Paul Byers of Kingsport, TN, Philip Shivell (Christine) of Kingsport, TN, Genevieve Shivell Byrd (Anthony) of Maryville, TN, Karen Peters Belcher (Mike) of Kingsport, TN, Perry Peters of Kingsport, TN, Paul Overbay III (Sarah) of Johnson City, Jon Overbay (Dina) of Johnson City and Ted Overbay (Candice) of Joneborough, TN; and her great grandchild Kinsley N. Woodard.
