He was predeceased by: his father Clarence Goodrich Towery. He is survived by: his fiancée Debra Thurman; and his children, Jude Bloom and Laura Campbell (Aaron) of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.

“I just posted a birthday wish on Twyman's FB page (accidentally) but saw no other posts. I had the feeling something wasn't right so Googled him and saw his obituary. I only met Twyman once, many, many years ago. After reading a book he'd written, I contacted him to tell him how much I enjoyed it and mentioned that I have Towery family and belong to the Towery/Towry family organization. We kept in touch sporadically. In any case, my heart goes out to his loved ones in his loss.”
