He was predeceased by: his parents, Stirton Oman and Frances Allen Oman; and his siblings, Frances Oman Brown, Betty Bond Oman Buntin and Stirton Oman, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Argie Chalfant Oman; his children, John Allen Oman, Jr. (Martha) and Argie Oman McDonald (Bill) of Birmingham; his grandchildren, Catherine Oman Hendrick (Paul), Elizabeth Oman Jasarevski (Mirza), Argie Neil McDonald, Elaine Wright McDonald and William White McDonald, III; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Theodora Hendrick and James Henry Jasarevski; and his sister Ann Oman Dorsett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
