He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles R. Coats, Sr. and Lucetta Buren Coats; his sister A'Marie Kees; and his brother-in-law Richard Kees. He is survived by: his wife Melinda Smith Coats; his children, Autumn Lynn Coats, Roxanne McDonald (Art) and Charles Robert Coats; his brother Greg Coats; and his sister-in-law Tammy Coats.
