She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Slate and Mary Helen McClearen Slate; her spouse Billie Roy Shanes; her son Ronald "Ronnie" Gossett; and her siblings, Vicki Dile and Jerry McClearen.
She is survived by: her children, Alisa Gossett, Tina Gossett and Barry Gossett (Rhonda); and her brother Terry Petty. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Memory Gardens Cemetery (2833 TN-100, Centerville, TN 37033).
