He was predeceased by: his parents, George Columbus and Rosetta Hurley Tanner; his sisters, Cathy and Becky Tanner; and his great grandchild Jackson Grammer.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ayers; his children, Brenda Flatt (Trent) of Savannah, Tennessee, Barbara Linville (Jim) of Savannah, Tennessee, Wanda Cherry of Savannah, Tennessee, Jimmy Tanner (LaShawn) of Savannah, Tennessee and Jonathan Tanner of Savannah, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Bryce Flatt of Brodie Flatt, Lee Myers, Wes Linville, Anna Myers, Dustin Myers, Colby Webster, Timothy Webster, Kayla Webster, Dakota Tanner, Trae Tanner and Allie Grace Tanner; his great grandchildren, Lauren Bowden, Alex Bowden, Justin Grammer, Layna Myers and Kenslynn Monaco; and his siblings, Nettie May DeShazier (Junior) of Savannah, Tennessee and James Tanner (Bonnie) of Savannah.
