It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lorraine Laney (Bolivar, Tennessee), who passed away on April 19, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lorraine Laney to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Linzie Dick and Leora Vestal Maness Tedford; her siblings, Sybil Elrod, Billy Wayne, L. D., Jr., Max Ray, Horace Glenn, David Ralph, Roger Elmo, Georgia Henderson, Joe Tedford, Howard Tedford and Ruth Hearn; her son-in-law Ralph Nowell; her grandson Shane Jones; and her grandparents, Cornelius, Georgia Ann Patterson, Dave and Ardella Wade.
She is survived by: her children, Dorothy Laney Nowell of Counce, TN, Peggy Laney McKinney of Lakeland, TN and Joe Edd Laney (Julie) of Toone. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Bolivar (109 Mecklinburg Dr, Bolivar, TN 38008). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 4:30 PM to 4:45 PM at the Maple Springs Cemetery (155 Maple Springs Rd, Medon, TN 38356).
