He was predeceased by: his parents, Boss Monroe McKinnie, Sr. and Lula Mae Hodge McKinnie; his wife Alma Jean Hunt McKinnie; and his sister Mary Jean Jones. He is survived by: his children, Gloria Jones (Phillip, Sr.) of Toone, TN, Joyce Bass (Ronald) of Bolivar, TN, James Dennis McKinnie of Collierville, TN, Steven McKinnie (Brandy) of Jackson, TN, Darry McKinnie (Laverne) of Rossville, TN and Frederick McKinnie (Toni) of Jackson, TN; his siblings, Betty Bordon of Rockford, IL, Mae Ella Parham of San Diego, CA, Martha Jones (Roy) of Bolivar, TN, Nancy Cole (Ronald) of Jackson, TN and Issac McKinnie (Rose) of Rockford, IL; his siblings-in-law, Olean Beard of Hickory Valley, TN, Minister James Jones of Toone, TN and Nathaniel Hardaway of Omaha, NE; and his aunt Mary Lucille Hunt of Grand Junction, TN. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, forty-two greatgrandchildren, five great-great grand-children.
