He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ellis Goodman, Sr. and Nell Morefield Goodman; his wife Kenna Beverly Goodman; and his sisters, Norma Simpson, Phyllis Barnes and Beverly Stellmach.

He is survived by: his daughter Rhonda Goodman Richards (Bobby) of Bluff City; his granddaughters, McKenna Fields and Mattie Richards; and his brothers-in-law, Steve Ladd and Wayne Stellmach.

“Rhonda, so sorry to learn of Johnny's passing from brother Al. Regret my wife and I cannot be with you for celebration of life observance on Saturday, but we do not travel so well now. Such good memories of times spent with your extended family, especially with your grandmother Nell and with Johnny. Playing hide and seek at night, talking with Johnny in the upstairs bedroom until parents said "Go to Sleep!" We'll certainly be thinking of you with sympathy and warm thoughts. Dave&Sandy Harley”
