He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Peterson and Elizabeth Fix Peterson; his wife Sally Vance Peterson; and his brother Richard Peterson. He is survived by: his children, Gordon L. Peterson, Jr. (Charlene) of Bluff City, TN, Christopher Peterson (Jennifer) of Bristol, TN, David Peterson (Denise) of Bluff City, TN, Julie Peterson Deskins (Danny) of Bluff City, TN and Austin Dayton Peterson (Karen) of Bluff City, TN; his grandchildren, Trevor Peterson, Jessica Peterson, Michelle Waters, Andrew Peterson, Sidney Jones, Josh Peterson and Elias Lewis; his siblings, Linda Kolden (Wade) of North Dakota, Bonnie Hammonds of North Dakota and Jim Peterson of North Dakota; and his close friend Marge Addison. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, niece and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Weaver Cemetery.
