He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoke Thurman and Ruth Pack Thurman of Stanley; his wife Shirley Ann Thurman; and his close friend Tex Hibler. He is survived by: his sister Sandra McCroskey; his stepdaughter Tammy Cameron; his granddaughter Elizabeth Dunn; his great grandchild Abigail Mary Ann Dunn; and his friend Betty Lou Lelenar (Donny Patterson).
A graveside service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at the same location.
