He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Thomas Rutherford and Lena McMillan Rutherford; and his granddaughter Amber Heatherly. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Maples Rutherford; and his daughters, Vicki Martin (Danny), Micki Heatherly (James), Kathy Pappas (Jeff) and Jamie Carter (Tim). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains (3100 W Old Andrew Johnson Hwy, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Eastview Memorial Gardens (1320 Andrew Johnson Hwy, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Capital Improvement Fund at First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains.
