He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sims and Ruby Potter Sims; his brother Raymond Sims; and his niece Shannon Spangler (Bob Barbee). He is survived by: his wife Mildred Sims; his children, Charles Sims (Dusty), Bunky Sims (Britania), Mitchell Sims (Cristie), Daniel Brown (Mendy) and Tammie Gunter (Jeff); and his sister Sarah Spangler (Ernie). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
