He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Humes and Mary Katherine Humes; his son Radford Lee Humes; and his siblings, William Humes, Lonnie Humes and Dorothy Lee.

He is survived by: his wife Robbie Humes; his daughters, Norma Strong (Phillip) and Linda Marie Humes; his grandchildren, Donny Strong, Sarah Barrett (Blu), Clesha Armstong (Daniel) and Jerone Adams; his great grandchildren, Ema-Lynn Barrett, Zoey, Skyler, Isiah and Aubrey Adams; and his brothers, Earl Humes (Jo) and Marc Humes (Brenda).

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
