With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carol Jean Akins of Bethpage, Tennessee, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Thomas Whited and Sadie Louise Adcock; her husband Harold Dorris Akins; and her sisters, Francis Roark and Dot Carver.
She is survived by: her children, Kim Hogue (Morris) of Scottsville, KY and Tonya Hodges (Jesse) of Bastrop, TX; her grandchildren, Cortney Dunn (Larry) of Chatsworth, GA, Justin Thompson (Aleisha) of Westmoreland, TN, Chelsea Jones (Trevor) of Hartsville, TN, Cherokee Leeds of Sulphur, LA and Tiffany Aubin (Lance) of Adolphus, KY; and her siblings, Nancy Smith (John) of Westmoreland, TN, Linda Jones of Pleasant Shade, TN, Shirley Sadler (Steve) of Tulsa, OK and Tommy Whited (Sharon) of Westmoreland, TN. She is also survived by her six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Woodard Funeral Home (5591 US-31E, Westmoreland, TN 37186). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
