He was predeceased by: his son Michael Russom; his granddaughters, Sarah Russom and Angela Ferrante; his parents, Olen Russom and Lois Russom; and his sisters, Noma Shelton and Judy Garrison.

He is survived by: his wife Wilma Higginbottom Russom; his daughter Melinda Ferrante; his daughter-in-law Nancy Russom; his son Terry Russom (Deana); his grandchildren, Caroline Russom, Brandon Ferrante (Rebecca), Joseph Ferrante (Stacy), Andrea Schmiedebusch (Darek), Justin Lyons (Hayley), Jonathan Russom and Sandi Morales (Ernesto); and his great grandchildren, Payton, Aaron, Cara Beth, Houston, Ruby Laine, Mac, Luna and Lily.
