He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Waldrop Smith; his parents, Arnold Smith and Grace Compton Smith; his stepmother Mary Hayes Smith; and his brother-in-law Johnny Wilcox.
He is survived by: his children, Carole Norwood (Buddy), Tracy Bishop (Dennis) and Rick Smith; his grandchildren, Josh Norwood (Melissa), Caleb Norwood (Laura), Benjamin Norwood, Rebekah Bishop, Carly Smith and Cole Smith; his great grandchildren, Bella Norwood and Chase Frank; and his siblings, Jim Smith (Valarie), Sandy Allen, Debbie Passmore (Alan), Shannon Wilcox and Chris Smith (Amanda).
