We are sad to announce that on February 23, 2024, at the age of 84, Marilyn Suggs Smith of Benton, Tennessee, born in Wauchula, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend B. W. Suggs and Minnie Mae Atkins Suggs; her husband Malcolm DeWitt Smith; her children, James DeWitt Smith and Sabrina Smith Tanner; her son-in-law Lenny Jurgonski; her grandson Jody Smith; and her siblings, Edsell Suggs, Vesta Branson, Alice Lee, Mary Gauze and Lela Mae Davis.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Schauer (Richard) of Benton, TN, Sheila Jurgonski of Norton, KA and Bobby Smith of Bradenton, FL; her brothers, Allen Suggs of Daytona Beach, FL and Wilbur Suggs of Nashville, TN; and her grandchildren, Jeanett Kennedy, Tamara Starky, Michael Jurgonski, Richard Schauer Jr., Crystal Rapond, Monica Jurgonski, Frank "Bo" Tanner Jr. of Norton, KA and Kyle Tanner of Tennille, GA. She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
