She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren G. Beard and Pauline Beard; her husband Kenneth Akins; and her siblings, Jeffrey, Jimmy Randall, Don Beard, Faye Beard Milen and Judy Beard Burrows.
She is survived by: her close friend Boone; her daughter Julie Rae Akins; her brothers, Kenneth "Bige" Beard (Wanell), Ronnie Beard (Betty), Tony Beard (Adeline) and John Beard (Lisa); and her close friends, Janet Kent-Ledford and Natasha Kent-Ledford. She is also survived by extended family and friends including many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
