He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Thornton, and Myrtle Totherow Thornton, Sr.; his wife Opal G. Thornton; his brothers, Walter Thornton, Winston Thornton and Wyman Thornton; and his grandson Kyle Conner.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Epperson (John) and Lisa Lewis (Bo); his siblings, Wesley Thornton and Mary King (Charles); his grandchildren, Misti Earwood, Justin Conner (Sarah) and Katey Foster (Serge); and his great grandchildren, Raelyn Conner, Will Foster and Weslyn Foster.
