She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Edgar Elkins and Ora Mae Autry Elkins; her husband Elbert Dell Newman; her siblings, Ramona Clymer, Melba Fowler, Dwain Elkins and James Elkins; and her son-in-law Terry Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Newman and Teresa Thomas; and her sister-in-law Kay Elkins. She is also survived by five grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to East Trinity UMC.
