He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Nelson and Velma Nelson; and his brother David C. Moore. He is survived by: his siblings, Rebecca Boals, Steve Nelson and Lois Ferrell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bells Funeral Home (5342 College St, Bells, TN 38006). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (693 Wildersville Rd, Parkers Crossroads, TN 38388). Following a bout with Covid-19 in March 2024, Phillip faced struggles that he could not overcome.
