He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodard Leland and Edith Richardson Brown; and his sister-in-law Joyce Brown. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Brown of Bell Buckle; his children, Daniel Brown (Shelly) of Arizonia, Beth Short of Shelbyville and Anna Hawkins (Chris) of Wartrace; his siblings, Leland Brown of Shelbyville and Margaret Shelton (Jerry) of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Nolen Spencer (Shea), Jesse Rittenberry (Brett), Sydney Shelton (Austin), Vince Hawkins (Shelbye), Tanner Hawkins (Carlee) and Nora Brown; and his great grandchildren, Foster, Ansley, Farrah, Finley, Beck, Garrison, Spencer, Benni and Miller.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Melson Cemetery.
