Cathy Jane Alsip Obituary

Cathy Jane Alsip, age 70 of Bell Buckle, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday March 26, 2023 at her home. Cathy was born on July 15, 1952 in Tullahoma, Tennessee to her parents Herman and Wanda Brown who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by Phillip "Rat" Brown her brother.

She is survived by her partner of 29 years, Woody Estes; one daughter, Cathy Michelle Romano.

Cathy and Woody have circled the earth on a 39 foot sail boat named "Welkin" starting at the Panama Canal and ending in Guatemala where they lived for about eight years. Some of the notable ports they stopped at were in Honduras and the ports of the Galapagos Islands, Easter Island, Papeete Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Madagascar, South Africa and Brazil sailing 36, 000 nautical miles total. She was a free spirit and loved adventure. She will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her. Cathy's wish was to be cremated. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
