He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Luther and Mable Elise Griggs Hughes; his brother Larry Richard Hughes; his former wife Linda Joyce Hughes; and his wife Rita Faye Hughes.

He is survived by: his sons, Kevin Hughes (Tammy) of Belfast and Tracy Hughes (Jennifer) of Loretta; his stepchildren, Wayne Snider of Pulaski, Allen Snider (Rachel) of Pulaski and Brittany Snider of Pulaski; his niece Benne'Hughes (Michael) of Birmingham; his grandchildren, Tabitha, Jennie, Beth, Michael and Albert; and his stepgrandsons, Alex and Colton. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, numerous other friends.
