He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Thurmond, Sr.; his stepfather Ernest W. Gray; and his brother-in-law Gary Moyers. He is survived by: his wife Julie Thurmond; his children, Adam, Travis Thurmond and Jessica Blankenship (Zack); his grandson Lleyton Blankenship; his mother Mary Lou Gray; and his sisters, Mary Lou Blankenship (Tony), Maragret Moyers and Melinda Thurmond. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the student and music ministry of Union Grove Baptist Church.
