She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Burress and Sallie Steadman Burress; her husband Billy Pope Staples; her siblings, Maxine Dyer (Edwin), Hazel (J. W. Johnson), Burl Burress (Helen), Lafayette Burress (Virginia) and Charles Burress; her grandson Clint Howell; and her son-in-law Tom Scott.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Randy (Rilla), Pam Howell (Rick), Susan Staples and Sarah Scott; her grandchildren, Blake Staples, Lauren Staples Hatley (Marc), Jon Howell (Molly), Josh Vinson (Jessie), Jennifer Vinson Newsom, Gina Vinson Thompson (Kenny), Will Scott (Shauna) and Jordan Scott; and her great grandchildren, Gavin Hatley, Drew, Clint Howell, Eryn, Brooke, Ashlyn Adkins, Eli Newsom and Noah Newsom.
In honor of their mother's life of caring and showing love and respect for others, there will be a graveside service only due to the pandemic. The family request those that attend to wear a mask.
