He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Mayes and Eloise Ball Mayes; his sons, Todd Edward Mayes and Ronnie Joe Mayes; his siblings, Thurman Mayes, Houston Mayes, Jim Mayes and Francis Mayes; and his grandson Izaaylan Scott Hopkins.
He is survived by: his wife Beulah "Beauty" Mayes; his children, Mickey Mayes, Christopher Helton, Casey Leanne Mayes (Scott Hopkins), Nikki Haney, Robin Neikirk and Shonna English; his siblings, Steve Mayes (Judy), Richard Mayes (Kathy), Harley Mayes, Emma Riddle (Larry) and Rose Mayes; and his grandchildren, Talaylee Mayes, Carlos Mayes, Jazzy Hopkins, Legend "Little Man" Young, Kaliyah Smith, Heather Neikirk, Freya Jane Smith, Ashleigh Smith, Skyler English, Seth English, Cody Neikirk, Waylon Neikird, Cassidy Mayes, Brooklyn York, Jacob Haney, Elijah Haney, Isaac Haney and Kira Haney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
